As a Managing Director in the Private Client Group, John works with clients to help determine strategy allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection and portfolio risk management across any matter of detail or investment complication. John’s background as a former equity research analyst and capital allocator allows him to provide a perspective on markets that can help clients discern what best helps them achieve their long-term investment goals.
Given the sophistication of his clients’ portfolios, John is driven by the challenge of navigating complex investments to identify strategies that can generate excess returns in any market environment. His mission at SCS is to tackle these complex issues and deliver solutions that help clients achieve their long-term financial goals with confidence.

- Senior Hedge Fund Consultant at Cambridge Associates, advising endowments, foundations, pension funds, and private clients; member of the Pension Advisory Team
- Director and Client Portfolio Specialist at PanAgora Asset Management, working with institutional clients and sovereign wealth funds on investment solutions; led a team of Portfolio Analysts and contributed to product development and marketing
- Former Investment Analyst at Pioneer Investments and Putnam Investments

Beyond SCS
John lives in Wayland, MA with his wife, Amy, their three teenage children, Jake, Charlie, and Grace, and two dogs, Bailey and Oliver. He coaches his daughter’s swim team and has previously coached Wayland Little League and taught CCD at St. Ann’s Church. An avid swimmer and competitive triathlete, John has successfully completed multiple Olympic-distance and Half Ironman triathlons.
